About
Ask an assistant for a good option and it answers with two or three business names. DiscoveryHQ tells you whether one of them is yours, shows you the answers it gave, and explains what to change if you are missing.
Why this exists
For twenty years, being findable meant showing up on a page of results. A person saw a list and chose. Now a lot of those people ask an assistant instead, and it hands back a short list it wrote itself.
Ten options. The person compares them and clicks. Being seventh still put you in front of someone.
The assistant has already read the web and decided. There is no seventh place, and there is no page two.
Three slots. You are in them, or you are not in the conversation.
Here is the awkward part: when an assistant recommends someone else, nothing tells you. There was no click, so there is nothing in your website stats to look at. The conversation happened, a decision got made, and you were never part of it.
That is the gap this product was built to close. Not with a theory about how AI works, but by asking the questions your customers ask and writing down what came back.
What we measure
Everything in DiscoveryHQ comes from real answers we asked for and stored. Two scores, no third one, and no invented confidence number.
0 to 100. How often ChatGPT and Gemini recommend you for the questions you track, and how near the front of the answer your name lands.
0 to 100. A fixed checklist of what your site is missing for an AI to understand it and quote it. The checks adapt to your kind of business.
The businesses AI recommends in your place, how often each one comes up, the reason the AI itself gave for picking them, and who is winning the Google results for the same questions.
A plain description of the picture AI paints of your business, built from the answers we stored — the words it reaches for, and what it gets wrong.
Ask an AI the same question twice and you can get two different answers, so a single answer proves nothing. Every tracked question is asked 3 times on each engine. The free public check-up is 3 questions across 2 engines, 3 times each.
We test ChatGPT and Gemini, through the AI companies’ own official services. Those two, and only those two — Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews are not covered. Alongside that we read your website page by page, up to 100 pages once you have an account.
What we hold to
These are not values on a wall. Each one has cost us something in the product, which is how you can tell they are real.
We do not estimate what AI thinks of you. We ask the questions, record the answers word for word, and count what happened.
Every score opens into the questions behind it and the answers that came back. If you cannot check a number yourself, we should not be printing it.
“Recommended in 2 of 9 checks” is a fact you can audit. A confidence percentage would be a guess wearing a number’s clothes, so there isn’t one anywhere in the product.
We write the fix and you paste it in. Nothing is ever applied to your website automatically, and no change counts as done until another check-up confirms it.
Unfinished things are labelled, not implied. Nothing runs on a schedule — you decide when a check-up happens — and nothing can be bought here today.
Who it is for
A dentist and a database company are not asked about in the same words, but the method is identical: ask, count, show the evidence, fix, check again. The checklist is what changes.
Clinics, trades, salons, restaurants. Your checklist leans on opening hours, reviews, and whether your details match everywhere they appear.
Agencies, consultants, contractors. The questions are about who to hire for a job, and the answer is a short list of names.
Your checklist leans on clear pricing, real documentation, and honest comparison pages, because that is what AI reads before it recommends a tool.
People ask assistants what to buy and where from. Product detail, shipping facts, and returns are what get quoted back.
Who builds it
No parent company, no agency behind the curtain. If something here is wrong, one team fixes it.

Support
DiscoveryHQ is young, and saying so costs less than being caught pretending otherwise. It does a narrow thing carefully rather than a wide thing vaguely.
Free to start, no card.
You keep control of your own site.
Paid plans are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Want the detail? How it works walks through a check-up step by step.
A free check-up takes a minute or two. No account needed to run it, and a free account saves the report.
